He has been involved in Complementary Medical Research with a particular emphasis on clinical trials and acupuncture for the last 30 years. His first degree was in bio-chemistry, He subsequently qualified as a physician and a general practitioner and had been fascinated by the whole area of complementary medicine and acupuncture since learning about acupuncture in Nanjing, China in 1977.
